“Masam” removes 1,408 mines from Yemeni lands in 7 days

The project was able to King Salman Relief Center Humanitarian workpores) to cleanse Yemeni lands of mines During the second week of April 2026, (1,408) mines were removed in various regions of Yemen, including (67) anti-tank mines, (10) anti-personnel mines, (1,329) unexploded ordnance, and two improvised explosive devices.
The “Masam” team in Hays district, Al Hudaydah governorate, removed one unexploded ordnance, and in Al Mukalla district, Hadramawt governorate, (1,094) unexploded ordnance and two improvised explosive devices were removed.

Clearing Yemeni lands of mines

In the Midi district of Hajjah Governorate, eight anti-personnel mines, 60 anti-tank mines, and 36 pieces of unexploded ordnance were removed. In the Al-Mudharabah district of Lahj Governorate, six anti-tank mines were removed.
In Marib Governorate, the team removed one piece of unexploded ordnance in the Al-Wadi district and 126 pieces in the Harib district. In the Asilan district of Shabwah Governorate, two pieces of unexploded ordnance were removed.

In Taiz Governorate, (3) unexploded ordnance were removed in Al-Mukha District, and in Dhubab District, one anti-tank mine and (56) unexploded ordnance were removed, and in Salouh District, two anti-personnel mines and (10) unexploded ordnance were removed.

Masam program

The number of landmines removed since the start of the MASAM project has thus risen to 553,828. These mines were indiscriminately planted across Yemen, claiming the lives of innocent children, women, and the elderly, and sowing fear in the hearts of civilians.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, continues its efforts to clear Yemeni lands of landmines as part of a project that enhances civilian safety and contributes to enabling Yemenis to live dignified and secure lives.
