Citizen Account payment for February: Details of support and eligibility requirements

The Citizen Account Program announced early this morning that it has begun depositing the February support payments into the accounts of eligible beneficiaries whose applications are complete. The program confirmed that this payment includes the "additional support" provided by royal directives to alleviate the economic burden on eligible families. The program explained that the deposits will continue gradually throughout Tuesday, and beneficiaries can check their payment amounts and the status of the support payments through the program's official mobile application or online portal.
Program context and economic objectives
This payment comes as a continuation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's efforts to protect low- and middle-income families from the direct and indirect effects of various economic reforms, including energy price adjustments and the introduction of value-added tax. The Citizen Account Program was established at the end of 2017 as a key pillar of the National Transformation Program and the Kingdom's Vision 2030, with the aim of redirecting government benefits to those most in need, thus ensuring a more efficient use of national resources.
The program is gaining increasing importance locally as a social safety net that contributes to enhancing the financial stability of Saudi families, as the support controls are reviewed periodically to ensure that it reaches those who actually deserve it, taking into account family size and total income, which enhances social justice and raises the efficiency of the government support system.
Eligibility and entitlement requirements for the Citizen Account program
In a related context, the program reiterated, via the "X" platform, the most important basic criteria and controls that determine the eligibility of the applicant to register and receive support, which aim to ensure the accuracy of the data and the fairness of the distribution, and include the following points:
- Saudi nationality: The main beneficiary must be a Saudi national, with the exception of holders of mobility cards, the spouse of a female citizen and her children, and the wife of a Saudi citizen.
- Permanent residency: The beneficiary must be a permanent resident within the borders of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and must not be a prisoner or a resident in one of the government shelters whose residents’ expenses are borne by the state.
- Data consistency: The data disclosed on the electronic portal must match the official data held by the relevant authorities to ensure the accuracy of calculating the value of the support.
- Financial capacity: The total income of the household, the number and ages of its members, as well as owned assets, are considered to determine the actual value of the benefit or lack thereof.
The program calls on all beneficiaries to update their data periodically in case of any change in their social, employment or financial status, in order to avoid the suspension or impact of support, stressing that communication channels are open to serve beneficiaries and answer their inquiries about the current payment.
