The Council of Senior Scholars commends the efforts of the nation's protectors
The General Secretariat of the Council of Senior Scholars in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia commended the tremendous efforts and sacrifices made by the security and military sectors to preserve the security of the country and its people, and to repel aggression. In its official statement, the Council affirmed that these blessed efforts and successive successes would not have been possible without the grace, support, and guidance of God Almighty, and the constant vigilance and continuous oversight of the country's leaders—may God protect them—and the sincere efforts exerted by personnel in all military and security sectors across various fields.
Historical context and the pivotal role of the security sectors
Historically, the military and security sectors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have demonstrated exceptional competence in addressing various challenges and threats. Security personnel and armed forces have set outstanding examples in combating extremism and securing the nation's vast borders, in addition to their prominent and recognized role in serving and ensuring the safety of pilgrims during Hajj and Umrah seasons. This security and stability enjoyed by the Kingdom is the product of decades of strategic planning, intensive training, and investment in human resources and modern military technologies, all with the unwavering support of the wise leadership.
Strategic importance and impact of the Kingdom's stability regionally and internationally
The impact of Saudi Arabia's security and military efforts extends beyond its borders, encompassing regional and international stability. The Kingdom is a cornerstone of security in the Middle East and the Arabian Gulf. Thanks to the vigilance of its armed forces, Saudi Arabia contributes to protecting vital waterways and securing global energy supplies, positively impacting the global economy. Furthermore, safeguarding the Two Holy Mosques is a vital concern for millions of Muslims worldwide, lending these efforts a profoundly important Islamic and global dimension.
The Islamic legal perspective and the virtue of defending one's homeland
In its statement, the Council of Senior Scholars clarified the religious dimension of these sacrifices, emphasizing that the actions of our military personnel in preserving the security of the country and its people are among the best of righteous deeds and the most sublime acts of devotion to God Almighty. This noble work manifests its blessed impact and widespread benefit in this life, while its immense reward is reserved for the Hereafter. The Council then posed the question: What greater reward could there be for those who contribute to the security of the country and its people? Citing the words of God Almighty: “And when Abraham said, ‘My Lord, make this city secure and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols,’” and His words, Glory be to Him: “O you who have believed, persevere and endure and remain steadfast and fear God that you may be successful.”.
The Authority also recalled the Prophetic Hadith highlighting the virtue of guarding in the cause of God, in which the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Two eyes will not be touched by the Fire: an eye that wept out of fear of God, and an eye that stayed awake guarding in the cause of God.” This underscores the high status that security and military personnel enjoy in the eyes of Islamic law.
Conclusion and prayer for the protection of the country and its people
In closing, the General Secretariat of the Council of Senior Scholars raised its hands in supplication, asking God Almighty to protect the Two Holy Mosques, the Gulf States, and all Muslim lands from all harm and evil. It also prayed that God reward the rulers and their loyal men in all security and military sectors with the best of rewards for their immense sacrifices, and that He guide and protect them all, for He is the All-Powerful, the Almighty.
