The Crown Prince discusses regional security with Kuwait and Djibouti

As part of the ongoing diplomatic efforts led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to promote regional stability, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received a telephone call today from His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait. The call addressed the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the two countries and ways to enhance joint coordination on critical issues.

Widespread condemnation of the attacks and reaffirmation of shared destiny

During the call, His Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Crown Prince of Kuwait expressed their strong condemnation of the Iranian attacks targeting the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Both sides affirmed that these attacks constitute a blatant violation of the sovereignty of these states and a direct threat to their security and the safety of their people. They emphasized that the security of the GCC countries is indivisible, and that any attack on the stability of one member state is a threat to the entire Gulf system, necessitating a firm stance and high-level coordination to confront these challenges.

The importance of Gulf coordination in light of current tensions

These talks come at a sensitive time, as the region witnesses rapid geopolitical shifts, highlighting the importance of activating joint defense mechanisms and security cooperation among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states. Historically, Saudi-Kuwaiti relations have long served as a model of fraternal solidarity, with the Kingdom being Kuwait's strategic depth, and vice versa. This contact reflects the Gulf leadership's commitment to unifying ranks and coordinating political and security positions to ensure the region is spared the ravages of conflict and to preserve the developmental gains of the Gulf peoples.

International support from Djibouti for the Kingdom's security

In a related development, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince received another telephone call from His Excellency President Ismail Omar Guelleh of the Republic of Djibouti. During the call, they reviewed the evolving situation in the region in light of the current military escalation. The Djiboutian President expressed his country's full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the face of the aggression it has suffered, affirming Djibouti's unwavering support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its security, stability, and territorial integrity.

The strategic dimension of Red Sea security

Contact with the Djiboutian leadership is of paramount strategic importance, given Djibouti's geographical location overlooking the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, a vital artery for global trade and maritime security in the Red Sea. This coordination reflects the Kingdom's awareness of the importance of securing its regional perimeter not only on land but also at sea, particularly in light of the threats facing global energy routes. These successive contacts underscore the pivotal role of Saudi Arabia as a cornerstone of international peace and security, and the Kingdom's ability to mobilize regional and international support to address security challenges.
