The Crown Prince receives the Chinese Foreign Minister to discuss the strategic partnership

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received in Riyadh today His Excellency Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, in an important meeting that reflects the depth of the growing relations between the two friendly countries.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the distinguished bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the People's Republic of China and discussed ways to develop them in various fields to serve the common interests of both countries and peoples. They also discussed regional and international developments of mutual concern and the efforts being made to enhance security and stability.
Dimensions of Saudi-Chinese relations
This visit comes amidst the active diplomatic engagement in Saudi-Chinese relations, which culminated in recent years with the signing of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement. These relations are of particular importance given the significant alignment between Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and China's Belt and Road Initiative, as both countries seek to enhance cooperation in the fields of energy, infrastructure, technology, and investment.
China is Saudi Arabia’s top trading partner, with trade between the two countries witnessing significant growth, reflecting a shared desire to diversify economic partnerships. Cooperation extends beyond the economic sphere to include political coordination in international forums, where Beijing plays an increasingly prominent role in Middle Eastern diplomacy, aligning with the Kingdom’s pivotal role as a pillar of stability in the region.
During the meeting, the two sides also discussed the current challenges facing the region and the world, emphasizing the need to prioritize dialogue and diplomatic solutions to crises. This meeting demonstrates the Saudi leadership's commitment to building bridges of communication with major global powers to ensure balance in international relations and achieve sustainable development.

The reception was attended on the Saudi side by His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Minister of State, Member of the Council of Ministers and National Security Advisor, and His Excellency Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Harbi, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the People’s Republic of China.
On the Chinese side, the attendees included Mr. Chen Weizhen, Director-General of the Department of West Asian and North African Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Zhang Hua, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Kingdom, and a number of officials.
