Details of the reception and discussions

During the meeting between the Deputy Foreign Minister and the Maldivian Ambassador, the distinguished bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Maldives were reviewed. The two sides also discussed a number of issues of common interest and explored ways to develop cooperation in a manner that serves the interests of both brotherly nations and strengthens diplomatic coordination in international forums.

The depth of Saudi-Maldivian relations

This message comes within the framework of ongoing communication between the leaderships of the two countries, as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Maldives share close historical and fraternal relations based on commonalities, foremost among them Islamic identity and cultural ties. The Kingdom places great importance on strengthening its partnerships with Islamic and friendly nations, contributing to stability and sustainable development.

The Kingdom plays a pivotal role in supporting development projects in the Maldives, particularly through the Saudi Fund for Development, which has contributed over decades to financing many vital infrastructure projects, such as airport development, housing projects, and the fisheries sector, reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting developing economies and promoting prosperity in sister countries.
