The dependent mistakenly refused to join the social security system: the solution and its impact on the pension

the enhanced social security program face technical challenges or unintentional errors while updating family data in the unified file. One of the most prominent of these cases is when a dependent accidentally clicks on the "reject" option to join the family, which raises questions about the impact of this on the family's entitlement and the value of the monthly pension.
The impact of a dependent's refusal on pension calculation
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development clarified, through its official platforms, the procedure followed if a dependent refuses to be added. The Ministry emphasized a crucial point that could negatively affect the value of the support, which is:
- Income calculation: If the dependent refuses to be linked to the family's file, the system will continue to calculate the income of this dependent within the total family income when considering eligibility and entitlement.
- Non-inclusion of support: Conversely, this dependent will not be counted within the number of family members when the pension is disbursed, which means that the family may lose this individual’s share of financial support, while his income remains counted against it, which may in some cases lead to exceeding the limit preventing disbursement or a decrease in the value of the entitlement.
Steps to correct the dependent's status in social security
To rectify this error and ensure full and deserved support, the head of household and the dependent must follow these steps via the online platform:
- The host logs into the unified file and deletes the dependent who rejected it.
- After the deletion is successfully completed, the host re-adds the dependent and enters their data.
- A message is sent to the dependent, or he logs into his account on the social support and protection platform.
- The dependent must accept and approve the request for association and joining the family in order for it to be officially recognized in the system.
Categories of dependents that can be added
In a related context, the program identified the categories that can be added as dependents in the unified file to ensure that support is comprehensive for eligible categories, and these are divided into three main categories:
1. The close follower
This category includes first and second degree relatives who live in the same dwelling, namely: (father, mother, husband, wife, sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, grandfather and grandmother).
2. Recommended dependent
They are the people who fall under the legal or religious responsibility of the family, such as foster children or those in similar circumstances who have legal documents proving guardianship or care.
3. Roommate
This refers to an individual who lives in the same residential unit as the family but is not a relative. The system allows for his inclusion to ensure a thorough study of the family's living conditions or the residence.
The importance of data updating in the enhanced warranty
This clarification comes as part of the Social Security Program's commitment to delivering support accurately and fairly to those who are entitled to it. The enhanced system aims to empower the most vulnerable individuals and families, achieve financial independence, and transition from dependency to productivity. Therefore, the Ministry consistently emphasizes the importance of accuracy when entering data or accepting applications, as any discrepancies in the information may lead to ineligibility or temporary suspension of payments until the situation is rectified.
