Deputy Governor of Mecca and Minister of Industry discuss development and investment projects

His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, received His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Mr. Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, and a high-level delegation of ministry leaders at the Governorate headquarters in Jeddah. During the meeting, a comprehensive review was conducted of the most prominent current and future projects and initiatives overseen by the ministry in the region, which aim to bring about a qualitative leap in the industrial and mining sectors.
During the meeting, His Highness was briefed on the details of the strategic programs implemented by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources in Makkah and its various governorates. Discussions focused on ways to enhance the investment environment and attract local and foreign capital, as well as mechanisms for developing local content, a key pillar for strengthening the national economy. Support for existing industrial projects and addressing obstacles that investors may face were also discussed, ensuring business sustainability and growth.
Strategic importance of the Makkah region on the industrial map
This visit is of particular importance given the strategic location of the Makkah region, home to major industrial cities, especially in Jeddah, a key commercial and logistical gateway to the Kingdom on the Red Sea. These initiatives are part of the government's ongoing efforts to activate the role of the private sector and enable it to contribute effectively to the GDP, as the Ministry seeks to transform the region into a leading logistics and industrial hub serving both local and global markets.
Keeping pace with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030
These initiatives fall within the broader framework of the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP), a key component of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to transform the Kingdom into a leading industrial power and a global logistics hub. The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources is working to maximize the value generated from the mining sector, considered the third pillar of Saudi industry, by utilizing the region's mineral resources in accordance with the latest environmental and international standards.
