Digital operations room to monitor the performance of Zakat and tax committees 2025
In a move reflecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to accelerating digital transformation in vital sectors, the General Secretariat of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Committees announced significant progress in enhancing the quality and efficiency of operational performance during 2025. These efforts culminated in the launch of a new and innovative generation of performance monitoring dashboards, which function as a comprehensive "digital operations room." These dashboards aim to enhance accurate monitoring processes, improve the quality of input data, and provide decision-makers with real-time information characterized by the highest standards of accuracy and effectiveness.
This step aligns with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which prioritizes digital transformation and streamlining government procedures. Historically, the Kingdom's judicial and quasi-judicial system has undergone rapid development, transitioning from traditional paper-based transactions to full automation. This has contributed to reducing litigation timelines and enhancing the efficiency of dispute resolution. These new dashboards represent a continuation of this developmental trajectory, providing a technological infrastructure that ensures business continuity and transparency.
The General Secretariat explained that the upgraded generation of performance dashboards was designed according to the latest international standards, allowing for a comprehensive and detailed view of performance levels across various departments. This technology has enabled executive leaders to obtain an accurate panoramic view of workflows, supporting real-time monitoring of the litigation process at all its stages, from filing a case to issuing a final ruling.
In detailing this technological achievement, the Secretariat indicated that the number of upgraded performance dashboards exceeded 65, covering all vital workflows. Among the most prominent of these is the "Live Performance Monitoring Executive Dashboard," which features data updates every two hours, displaying the case duration at each stage and updates to Service Level Agreements (SLAs), thus ensuring immediate intervention to address any potential delays.
The system also included specialized dashboards for monitoring strategic indicators approved by the Board of Directors, dashboards dedicated to measuring the performance of the primary and appellate courts separately, and detailed monitoring of the performance of the General Directorate of Legal and Technical Studies. The system also addressed customer service, including dashboards for monitoring the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and measuring the quality of call center performance to ensure effective responses to customer requests.
This technological advancement is expected to have a tangible positive impact on the Kingdom's investment and economic environment. The swift resolution of zakat and tax disputes enhances investor and private sector confidence in the legislative and regulatory framework, contributes to improved business-friendliness indicators, and supports financial and economic stability, thereby strengthening the Saudi market's attractiveness as a leading investment destination in the region.
