The President of Djibouti affirms to the Crown Prince his support for the Kingdom's security and stability

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received a telephone call today from His Excellency President Ismail Omar Guelleh, President of the Republic of Djibouti, during which they discussed developments in the region and reviewed the strong bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries.

During the call, the President of Djibouti expressed his country's strong condemnation of any attempts to undermine the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, affirming that the Republic of Djibouti, both government and people, stands with the Kingdom in the face of the aggression it has suffered. His Excellency emphasized his country's full support for all necessary measures and steps taken by the Kingdom to protect its territory and citizens, and to contribute to strengthening security and stability in the region, praising the Kingdom's leading role in maintaining regional balance.

The depth of strategic relations and the security of the Red Sea

This call comes at a crucial time, reflecting the depth of the strategic relationship between Riyadh and Djibouti, with Djibouti considered a pivotal partner for the Kingdom in the Horn of Africa. This relationship is particularly important given Djibouti's strategic geographic location overlooking the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, a vital artery for global trade and oil exports, making security and military coordination between the two countries essential to ensuring maritime security in the Red Sea.

A history of joint cooperation

Saudi-Djiboutian relations are based on a long history of cooperation, with the Kingdom consistently being at the forefront of supporting development projects in Djibouti through the Saudi Fund for Development. The two countries also played a pivotal role in establishing the Council of Arab and African States Bordering the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, an entity aimed at strengthening political, economic, and security coordination among the littoral states of this vital waterway, underscoring the shared vision of both leaderships regarding the risks and challenges facing the region.

Solidarity in the face of regional challenges

This contact reflects the high level of coordination between the two leaderships in confronting current challenges. Djibouti is an integral part of the Arab security system and has a firm stance in supporting legitimacy in Yemen and the Arab Coalition led by the Kingdom. President Ismail Omar Guelleh's affirmation of support for the Kingdom's actions sends a clear message about the unity of the Arab and Islamic ranks in the face of security threats and highlights the pivotal role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a cornerstone of international peace and security.
