
The Prince of the Eastern Province honors the winners of the Al-Qadisiyah Holy Quran Competition
His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, received in his office at the Emirate’s Diwan today, Wednesday, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Qadisiyah Club Company, Mr. Badr Al-Ruziza, accompanied by the winners of the first places in the club’s competition for memorizing and reciting the Holy Quran, which was held as part of the activities of the third edition of Al-Qadisiyah’s Ramadan season.
Continuous care for the Book of God
At the outset of the meeting, His Royal Highness the Prince of the Eastern Province affirmed that caring for and venerating the Holy Quran is a deeply rooted principle upon which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been founded since its establishment, and which the wise leadership – may God support it – continues to uphold. His Highness pointed out that paying attention to those who memorize the Holy Quran and encouraging children and youth to engage with it through recitation, contemplation, and application represents a fundamental pillar in building a generation that is aware of and adheres to the values of its true religion, and derives its way of life from the sound guidance of the Quran, which will positively impact their behavior and their service to their nation and society.
Details of the third edition and the great turnout
For his part, Bader Al-Ruziza, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Qadisiyah Club, reviewed the details of the third edition of the competition, explaining that it witnessed a remarkable turnout and wide participation this year, reflecting the success of the club's community initiatives. The number of registered participants reached 721, who underwent rigorous screening and elimination processes in cooperation with the Eastern Province Charitable Association for Memorizing the Holy Quran, to ensure the application of the highest standards of judging and transparency.
Al-Ruzaiza pointed out that the qualifiers resulted in 375 contestants qualifying for the final stages, who were distributed across five different branches to cover various levels, with 70 contestants in the first branch, the same number in the second, 80 contestants in each of the third and fourth branches, while 75 participants competed in the fifth branch dedicated to recitation.
Valuable awards and a leading community role
To encourage fair competition, the organizing committee allocated valuable cash prizes totaling 75,000 riyals, distributed among 20 winners who excelled in memorization and performance. This recognition comes as part of the club's strategy to enhance its social and cultural role, extending beyond its traditional sporting function, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which urges sports clubs to activate their social responsibility and contribute to improving quality of life.
Al-Ruzayza concluded his speech by expressing his deepest gratitude and appreciation to His Highness the Prince of the Eastern Province for his generous patronage and unlimited support for the Al-Qadisiyah Ramadan season, stressing that the addition of the “recitation” track this year constituted a qualitative leap and expanded the circle of participation, which enhances the club’s mission to consolidate Quranic values and embrace talents in various fields.
