The Governor of the Eastern Province sponsors the second Roads and Transport Forum: 2026 projects and the future of the sector

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province and Chairman of the Board of the Eastern Province Development Authority, the second edition of the "Roads and Transportation Forum" will commence tomorrow, Sunday, in Dammam. Organized by the Eastern Province Development Authority under the theme "Moving Steadily Towards a Future that Aligns with Our Vision," this prominent event will run for two days, bringing together a select group of experts and decision-makers in the transportation and infrastructure sector.

This forum is of great strategic importance, as it will reveal the features of future road projects in the Eastern Province up to 2026. The schedule of events includes the signing of a package of qualitative agreements that aim directly to enhance the quality of life and develop the transportation system, in addition to holding dialogue sessions and specialized scientific lectures that discuss the most prominent challenges and investment opportunities, with a focus on reviewing the latest global technologies and smart solutions in the field of road and transportation engineering.

Within a strategic context aligned with Vision 2030,
this forum is being held at a time when the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is witnessing unprecedented development in the logistics and transportation sector, in line with the objectives of "Vision 2030" and the National Transport and Logistics Strategy launched by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. These strategies aim to solidify the Kingdom's position as a global logistics hub connecting three continents, making the development of road networks in the Eastern Province an urgent necessity, given its vital geographical location as the Kingdom's gateway to the Arabian Gulf and a key link with the GCC countries.

The Eastern Province holds significant economic and developmental importance.
It is the economic and industrial heart of the Kingdom, home to major industrial cities and export ports. Therefore, developing its road infrastructure not only facilitates the movement of people but also enhances the efficiency of supply chains and supports commercial and industrial activity. The outcomes of this forum are expected to contribute to improved road safety and reduced congestion in major cities such as Dammam, Khobar, and Dhahran, which will positively impact the region's investment and tourism appeal.

Partnerships for Integrated Roles:
The forum builds upon the success of its inaugural edition, focusing on the principle of integration between the public and private sectors. In this context, Dr. Talal bin Nabil Al-Maghlouth, Acting CEO of the Eastern Province Development Authority, expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness the Prince of the Eastern Province for his continued patronage, emphasizing that this support reflects the leadership's commitment to enhancing efficiency and sustainability in development projects, thereby improving the urban landscape and elevating the quality of services provided to residents and visitors of the Eastern Province.
