The Minister of Education inaugurates the Student Arts Festival on Founding Day

The Minister of Education, Mr. Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan, inaugurated the "Student Arts Festival" organized by the Ministry at its headquarters in Riyadh, coinciding with the national celebrations of the "Foundation Day." The festival witnessed wide participation from public schools across the Kingdom, where students presented outstanding creative works that embody the depth of national identity and connect the present with the rich past.
A tour and showcase of student creativity
Minister Al-Bunyan toured the various sections of the festival, viewing the artistic and sculptural works and heritage models created by the students. He listened to detailed explanations from the students about their projects, which drew inspiration and symbols from the history and deep-rooted heritage of the Saudi state. Several ministry leaders and staff members were also present, reflecting the educational leadership's commitment to supporting young talent and connecting them to their country's history.
Founding Day: A Deep Historical Tradition and Firm Roots
This celebration comes within the context of recalling the historical depth of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as the Founding Day commemorates the establishment of the first Saudi state by Imam Muhammad bin Saud in 1139 AH / 1272 CE, with its capital in Diriyah. This event is considered a pivotal turning point in the history of the Arabian Peninsula, as it laid the foundations for security, stability, and unity. Therefore, student activities are of paramount importance in acquainting the younger generations with these illustrious milestones and instilling the understanding that the Kingdom is not a product of the moment, but rather an extension of a history spanning more than three centuries of glory and heroism.
Strengthening national identity and the goals of the vision
The festival primarily aims to instill a sense of national belonging in young people, directly aligning with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which focuses on building a national identity proud of its cultural and civilizational heritage. By portraying the founding stages of the Kingdom in artistic and interactive formats, history is transformed from written texts into a tangible reality experienced by students, thus contributing to the revival of cultural heritage and the consolidation of pride in authentic Saudi identity within the hearts of rising generations.
A live simulation of the founding era
The festival was distinguished by its diverse sections, which meticulously recreated the historical environment of the founding era. The events included a special section recreating Diriyah with its walls and mud-brick buildings, as well as pavilions dedicated to horses and falcons, symbols of Arab pride and heritage. The exhibition also featured sections showcasing traditional costumes and handicrafts, along with live student performances that highlighted aspects of traditional social life. This made the festival a comprehensive educational and historical platform that emphasized the unity of the nation's people with their leadership and their glorious history.
