The Ministry of Education adopts the "My Results" platform for issuing digital certificates and eliminating paper
In a pivotal step that aligns with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's rapid digital transformation, the Ministry of Education has announced the complete elimination of paper-based processes for issuing academic certificates. The Ministry launched the comprehensive "Digital Document" phase in its new examination guide for the academic year 1447 AH (2025 CE), adopting the "My Results" platform as a unified central interface for issuing and authenticating certificates electronically, thus ending the era of physical stamps and traditional manual authentications.
The context of digital transformation and Vision 2030
This strategic decision aligns with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which prioritizes digital transformation and smart government. After years of relying on paper archives and field visits by educational departments, the education system is transitioning to a fully integrated digital environment that ensures speed of completion and data accuracy. This step is part of a broader movement across all government sectors to enhance operational efficiency, reduce paper waste, and streamline the experience for beneficiaries, whether students or parents.
Goodbye to waiting lists and the term "replacement for lost item"
The Ministry has launched a new era, enabling all students and graduates to obtain their general education certificates electronically and instantly. This step aims to eliminate waiting lists and the hassle of visiting education departments and schools to obtain certified copies. Among the most significant changes introduced by the new regulations is the elimination of the terms "replacement for lost" or "replacement for damaged" for newly issued certificates. Instead, the new issue date is sufficient to grant the document official status as a certified original, thus alleviating the social and psychological embarrassment for students and providing them with up-to-date documents free from any indication of the loss of the previous version.
Digital security and instant verification
To ensure the highest standards of reliability, the Ministry has implemented an advanced technological security system that replaces traditional seals with a QR code printed on each certificate. This technology enables official bodies, universities, and employers in both the public and private sectors to verify the authenticity and reliability of the data instantly. This digital system completely eliminates any attempts at forgery or grade manipulation, as the QR code allows direct access to the Ministry's central system to match the data on the document with official records stored in the cloud.
Data correction mechanisms and unified identity
Regarding data correction, the instructions established a precise mechanism to differentiate between current students and graduates, assigning schools the task of directly updating their current student data to ensure swift completion. The Ministry also launched an online channel through the "My Results" portal for graduates and those who have discontinued their studies to submit requests for name or civil registration changes, with the added feature of instant automatic updates to all of the student's previous academic records in the central system. The Ministry emphasized the standardization of visual identity for documents, prohibiting the printing of students' personal photos or the addition of any promotional logos for private and public schools, to ensure a uniform official format for government documents.
Expected impact locally and administratively
This shift is expected to alleviate the administrative burden on schools and education departments, which previously spent considerable time and effort printing and authenticating paper certificates. It will also streamline university and job applications for graduates, as the digital document will now be officially recognized without requiring verification against the original paper document, thus enhancing the efficiency of government procedures and supporting the labor market.
