Performance Appeals 2025 via the Fares System: Steps and Conditions
The Saudi Ministry of Education has announced the availability of an appeals service for the 2025 performance evaluation results for administrative staff, accessible through the "Faris" self-service system. This service will be available for ten days, starting Sunday, December 21, 2025, and aims to enhance transparency and fairness in the workplace, enabling employees to exercise their legal right to appeal within specific guidelines.
Grievance submission mechanism and technical requirements
The ministry clarified the details of the approved mechanism for submitting grievances, emphasizing the necessity of adhering exclusively to the electronic channel through the employee's account on the Fares system. The ministry stipulated that for a grievance to be accepted, all supporting evidence and documents must be attached in PDF format only. The issued instructions emphasized that any attachments submitted outside the system, or those relying on external links, QR codes, or screenshots of conversations from social media applications, will not be accepted, in order to ensure the official status and reliability of the documents.
The role of the direct supervisor and the accreditation process
Regarding administrative procedures, the ministry has defined the role of the direct supervisor in this process, which is limited to reviewing the submitted grievance, providing professional feedback, and writing the necessary statement on the points of contention raised by the employee. This process is conducted through the designated pathway in the Fares system (Manager's Self-Service – Job Performance – Final Evaluation – Grievances), culminating in the final statement and approval stage, thus ensuring a systematic and accurate sequence of procedures.
Fares System and Digital Transformation in Education
The "Faris" system is a cornerstone of the Ministry of Education's digital transformation, serving as the technological arm of its human resources department. This service is an extension of the Ministry's efforts to automate administrative processes and reduce paperwork, aligning with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 to enhance government performance. The system provides a central database that enables employees and managers to complete all employment-related procedures, from leave and promotions to performance evaluations, with high accuracy and speed.
The importance and impact of job performance evaluation
Performance appraisals are of paramount importance in the career path of administrative staff, as their results are directly linked to numerous job benefits, most notably eligibility for annual bonuses, promotions, and development and training opportunities. The Ministry, through its appeals process, ensures that every employee receives a fair evaluation that reflects their actual efforts throughout the year and addresses any discrepancies between actual performance and the recorded score, thereby fostering a positive work environment and increasing job satisfaction.
