Formula 1 is monitoring the situation ahead of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian races

The Formula 1 World Championship management announced that it is closely and continuously monitoring the current situation in the Middle East region, as part of its intensive preparations for the upcoming events on the current season’s calendar, specifically the two anticipated rounds in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This announcement reaffirms the championship's commitment to the highest safety standards. The Bahrain International Circuit is scheduled to host the fourth round of the World Championship from April 10th to 12th, after which the competition will move directly to the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in Saudi Arabia for the fifth round from April 17th to 19th. This period is crucial to the championship schedule, as the back-to-back races in the region present a logistical and sporting challenge requiring meticulous coordination.
The Kingdom of Bahrain played a pivotal role in the start of the current season, as it successfully hosted the winter preparatory tests for teams and drivers during the period from February 11 to 20, which paved the way for the start of the official competitions, reflecting the high readiness of the sports infrastructure in the Kingdom.
Historically and strategically, Middle Eastern racing holds great importance in the world of Formula 1. Bahrain has been a pioneer in bringing the sport to the region since 2004, becoming the “home of motorsport in the Middle East,” while Saudi Arabia has reinforced its strong presence by creating one of the fastest street circuits in the world in Jeddah, making the region a major destination for speed enthusiasts and an integral part of the championship’s global identity.
On both the economic and sporting fronts, these races are a significant driver of sports tourism in the region, attracting thousands of visitors from around the world, in addition to global media coverage that highlights the remarkable development taking place in the Gulf countries. Formula 1 management and the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) recognize the magnitude of this responsibility, and therefore maintain constant and direct coordination with security and relevant authorities in the host countries to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the events.
The sources concluded by emphasizing that the safety of all participants, including drivers, technical teams, and fans, remains the top priority that cannot be compromised, noting that the organizational plans are proceeding according to schedule with close monitoring of developments to ensure a safe and exciting racing experience, as is the custom for the rounds held in the region.
