The first Taraweeh prayer in the Prophet's Mosque: A spiritual atmosphere and complete preparations

In a solemn and serene scene, a vast congregation of worshippers performed the Isha and Taraweeh prayers this evening at the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, on the first night of the blessed month of Ramadan. Worshippers began arriving early, filling the mosque's halls and courtyards in a deeply spiritual atmosphere, supplicating and beseeching God Almighty to accept their fasting and prayers.

The worshippers were led in the Isha prayer and the first three sets of prayers during the Taraweeh prayer by Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al-Buaijan, who recited verses from the Holy Quran amidst the attentive and reverent prayers of thousands. The final two sets of prayers and the Witr prayer were led by Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Barhaji, as hands were raised in supplication during the Qunut prayer, asking God to protect the Muslim world and grant everyone security and peace.

Integrated service preparations

Regarding logistical and field services, the General Authority for the Care of the Prophet's Mosque has completed all its preparations according to a well-defined operational plan prepared in advance in coordination with various relevant security and service agencies. These preparations included preparing the outer courtyards and expansions and furnishing them with the finest quality carpets to accommodate the increasing numbers of visitors and worshippers, in addition to intensifying cleaning and sanitization operations around the clock, and providing chilled Zamzam water dispensers in all corridors and entrances to ensure the comfort of the pilgrims.

The spiritual significance of the Prophet's Mosque

This event holds special significance due to the profound place the Prophet's Mosque occupies in the hearts of Muslims worldwide. It is the second holiest site in Islam, and prayer there is equivalent to a thousand prayers elsewhere, except for the Grand Mosque in Mecca. Performing the Taraweeh prayers in this sacred place is a unique spiritual experience sought by pilgrims from all corners of the earth, where the spirituality of the time blends with the sanctity of the place, near the grave of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).

After Islamic and global

The impact of these rituals extends beyond the physical presence at the Two Holy Mosques, reaching the entire Muslim world through live broadcasts of prayers via satellite channels and digital platforms. This strengthens the bonds of faith among Muslims across the globe. This comprehensive system of services reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its leadership's commitment to harnessing all available resources to serve those visiting the Two Holy Mosques, in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals of enriching the experience of visitors and pilgrims and facilitating the performance of their religious rites with ease and tranquility.
