The first Umrah flights for Ramadan 1447 AH have arrived via Jeddah Islamic Port

In an atmosphere of faith and spirituality, the General Directorate of Border Guards welcomed the first group of pilgrims arriving by sea through Jeddah Islamic Port to perform Umrah during the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH. This reception is part of the extensive preparations undertaken annually by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to ensure the smooth entry of pilgrims and to provide them with the highest quality services from the moment they arrive in the Kingdom.

The Director General of the Border Guard, Major General Shaye bin Salem Al-Wadaani, explained that the Border Guard Directorate has completed its field and administrative preparations to receive the pilgrims. He affirmed that all human and technological resources have been mobilized to facilitate entry procedures and enhance the quality of services provided at land and sea ports, reflecting the Kingdom's honorable image and its utmost care for the guests of the House of God, in implementation of the directives of the wise leadership, which gives the utmost priority to those visiting the Two Holy Mosques.

Vision 2030 and the Guests of God Service Program

This event comes within the framework of major national efforts stemming from the Kingdom's Vision 2030, specifically through the "Guests of God Service Program," which aims to bring about a qualitative leap in the experience of Umrah and Hajj pilgrims. Through these programs, the Kingdom seeks to increase the capacity of entry points and facilitate the pilgrim's journey through automation and digital transformation, thereby reducing waiting times and easing crowd movement, especially during peak seasons such as the holy month of Ramadan, which witnesses a massive influx of pilgrims from across the Islamic world.

Jeddah Islamic Port: The maritime gateway to the Two Holy Mosques

Jeddah Islamic Port holds immense strategic and historical importance as the primary maritime gateway to the Two Holy Mosques, given its geographical proximity to Mecca. In recent years, the port has undergone significant development and expansion, including upgrades to its arrival and departure terminals, equipping them with state-of-the-art screening equipment and logistical services to ensure passenger comfort. The arrival of the first voyages marks the beginning of the Ramadan Umrah season, the peak of the spiritual season, during which all government sectors, including passport control, customs, and the port authority, work together as a unified and integrated system.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is always keen to harness all its energies to ensure the safety, security and comfort of pilgrims, so that they can devote themselves to performing their rituals in peace and tranquility, as the success of the Umrah and Hajj seasons represents a fundamental pillar in the Kingdom’s leading role in the Islamic world.
