Flights temporarily suspended at Berlin airport after a march was spotted in its vicinity

Flight operations at Berlin's Heathrow Airport on Wednesday after a drone was spotted in the vicinity, the latest in a series of such incidents in Germany and other European countries.
airport spokesperson told AFP that operations were halted "as a precaution" for about half an hour after an unidentified flying object was spotted near a helicopter hangar used by the German military.
Police were called, but the drone was not seen again.

Lifting restrictions

Shortly after 7 p.m. (18:00 GMT), restrictions were lifted and operations returned to normal, according to an airport spokesperson.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz accused Russia of being behind the drone incidents detected in Germany and Europe near sensitive sites such as airports, military bases, and energy facilities.
Last October, Munich Airport in southern Germany experienced a similar incident that caused flight cancellations and diversions.
