Qassim Health Projects Future Forum: Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation

The third edition of the "Future of Healthcare Projects Forum" kicked off in Buraidah, Qassim region. Organized by the Qassim Health Cluster in strategic partnership with the Society of Healthcare Engineers, this important event, held at the Mövenpick Hotel, serves as a vital platform bringing together experts and decision-makers to chart a new roadmap for healthcare infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Vision 2030 and digital transformation in the health sector

This forum is being held at a time when the Kingdom's healthcare sector is undergoing radical transformations in line with the goals of Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Program, which prioritizes digitalization and innovation. Healthcare projects are no longer limited to traditional construction; they have moved towards the concepts of "smart hospitals" and sustainable facilities that rely on big data and artificial intelligence to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste—the overarching theme of this year's forum discussions.

Artificial intelligence: The cornerstone of a sustainable future

Under the theme "Technological Transformation... For a Sustainable Healthy Future," the forum focuses on integrating artificial intelligence technologies into the planning, design, and implementation phases of healthcare projects. The scientific sessions will discuss how modern technologies can contribute to:

  • Improving the accuracy of engineering planning and reducing construction errors.
  • Improving energy efficiency in healthcare facilities to achieve environmental sustainability.
  • Analyzing operational data to predict future maintenance and development needs.

These discussions will include a select group of health leaders, engineers, and planners, to exchange experiences on the latest global trends in this field.

Leadership support and conscious planning

The opening ceremony featured a speech by the CEO of the Qassim Health Cluster, Dr. Musa Al-Harbi, who emphasized that the forum embodies the importance of "conscious planning" and effective implementation. Dr. Al-Harbi expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, for his generous patronage and unwavering support of development projects in the region, noting that this support is the primary driver behind the accelerated progress witnessed in healthcare projects.

Developing national competencies

The forum's role extends beyond theory to include the professional development of Saudi practitioners and engineers. It offers Professional Development Units (PDUs) accredited by the Project Management Institute (PMI), enhancing the skills of national talent and equipping them to lead future projects to international standards.

The forum will continue for two days, including practical workshops and a review of successful national experiences, with the aim of coming up with practical recommendations that enhance the quality of life and raise the level of health services provided to citizens and residents.
