A German minister inaugurates projects at the Juffali complex in King Abdullah City
In a move reflecting the deepening economic ties between Riyadh and Berlin, Al Juffali Company welcomed German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, Katharina Reiche, on an important official visit to the Al Juffali Industrial Complex in King Abdullah Economic City. She was received by Chairman Sheikh Khalid Al Juffali, along with a number of senior officials and executives, underscoring the strategic importance of this event in the context of industrial cooperation between the two countries.
A historic partnership and future prospects
This visit comes within the context of a long history of trade and industrial cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Federal Republic of Germany, where German technology is a cornerstone of many infrastructure and industrial projects in the Kingdom. The Juffali Industrial Complex, spanning a vast area of 400,000 square meters, is a prime example of this cooperation, serving as a strategic platform for localizing advanced technologies and supporting the domestic manufacturing sector.
Launching massive industrial projects
The visit witnessed pivotal moments, including the laying of the foundation stone for major expansion projects that will contribute to enhancing the Kingdom's industrial capabilities. The global company Liebherr laid the foundation stone for its new factory within the complex, while Al Juffali Industrial Equipment Company and the National Automotive Manufacturing Company laid the foundation stone for their respective new factories. These steps herald the beginning of a new phase of local manufacturing based on the highest German quality standards.
Productivity figures that support local content
These factories are expected to significantly boost local production, with the combined production capacity of Al Juffali Industrial Equipment Company and the National Automotive Manufacturing Company reaching approximately 6,000 trucks annually . Meanwhile, the Liebherr factory aims to produce around 1,000 cement mixers per year . Crucially, assembly and manufacturing will be carried out entirely within the Kingdom, enhancing local content and contributing to the transfer of knowledge and technical expertise to Saudi nationals.
Alignment with the Kingdom's Vision 2030
These investment initiatives directly contribute to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, specifically the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP), which aims to transform the Kingdom into a leading industrial power and a global logistics hub.
