A global Islamic landmark: A look at the history and achievements of the King Fahd Complex

The King Fahd Complex for Printing the Holy Quran, whose foundation stone was laid by the late King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in 1982 and which was inaugurated in 1984, is one of the most prominent Islamic landmarks of the modern era. The complex was established in the city of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to meet the growing need of Muslims worldwide for reliable copies of the Holy Quran, free from errors and printed using the best technologies. Since its inception, its role has not been limited to printing alone, but has extended to recording Quranic recitations and translating the meanings of the Holy Quran into dozens of international languages, making it a bridge of knowledge connecting the word of God to the hearts of millions of non-Arabic speakers.

The complex's production capacity exceeded hundreds of millions of copies, which were distributed as gifts from the Kingdom to pilgrims, Umrah performers, and visitors, in addition to being delivered to mosques, Islamic centers, and universities worldwide through the Kingdom's embassies and consulates. This ongoing contribution reflects the great importance the Saudi leadership places on serving Islam and spreading its tolerant message based on moderation and balance, and reinforces the Kingdom's position as the beating heart of the Islamic world and a guardian of its affairs.
