This tournament is more than just a sporting competition; it reflects the values of brotherhood and close ties between the peoples of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Iraq, and Yemen. It's worth noting that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has a rich history with the tournament, having hosted it four times (1972, 1988, 2002, and 2014), and the Saudi national team has won the title on three occasions. The Kuwaiti national team holds the record for the most Gulf Cup titles.

Domestically ,, hosting the 27th Gulf Cup aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to establish the Kingdom as a global hub for sports and tourism. The matches will be held in two world-class stadiums in Jeddah: King Abdullah Sports City (The Shining Jewel) and Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium, boosting the city's economic and tourism revenues. Regionally thetournament will enhance the competitiveness of Gulf national teams and prepare them for continental competitions. Internationally, this hosting serves as a clear testament to Saudi Arabia's exceptional ability to organize major tournaments, paving the way for even larger events in the future, such as the 2027 AFC Asian Cup and the 2034 FIFA World Cup.

Team rankings and draw procedure

This is the fifth edition of the tournament held under the auspices of the Arabian Gulf Cup Football Federation, with the participation of eight national teams: Saudi Arabia (the host country), the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait, and Yemen.
