Hajj Guidance Seminar: The Ministry of Interior's Efforts to Serve the Guests of God
Launch of the second edition of the Hajj guidance seminar
As part of the ongoing and intensive preparations undertaken by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the Hajj season, the General Directorate of Guidance and Counseling at the Ministry of Interior held its second annual “Guidance in Hajj” seminar today. The seminar was honored by the presence of the Assistant Minister of Interior for Operations, Mr. Mohammed Al-Muhanna, and took place at the Ministry of Interior Club in Makkah, the holy city to which the hearts of Muslims from all corners of the earth yearn.
The seminar's objectives and main themes
This strategic symposium aims primarily to highlight the tremendous efforts undertaken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in serving the pilgrims. It also focuses extensively on the pivotal and heroic role played by security personnel during the Hajj season, which centers on maintaining the safety and security of the pilgrims and facilitating the performance of their rituals with complete peace of mind and ease.
The symposium, in its various sessions, addressed sustainable national values in serving pilgrims, emphasizing the importance of integrated efforts across different sectors and high-quality field performance. It also focused on enhancing security performance to ensure full compliance with Hajj regulations and instructions, and reviewed the efforts of the various security agencies working around the clock to guarantee the success of the season.
General context and historical background of the event
Historically, since the unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by King Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God have mercy on him – the state has considered serving the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors a top priority. With the passage of time, the number of pilgrims has increased dramatically, necessitating continuous development of infrastructure, security systems, and organizational structures. In the modern era, these efforts fall under the umbrella of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, specifically the "Guests of God Service Program," which aims to bring about a qualitative leap in the Hajj and Umrah experience, providing the highest quality services that enable pilgrims to perform their rituals with ease and comfort in a healthy, safe, and sustainable environment.
The importance of the event and its expected impact
Domestically, the “Guidance in Hajj” seminar is of paramount importance in enhancing preparedness and coordination between security leaders and field personnel, ensuring the unification of concepts and the precise implementation of strategic plans to address any emergencies. Regionally and internationally, such events and preparatory seminars send clear messages of reassurance to the entire Muslim world, affirming the Kingdom’s complete readiness to receive millions of pilgrims and its exceptional ability to manage massive crowds according to the highest international standards. The success of the Hajj season reflects the Kingdom’s positive image and its capacity to organize the world’s largest annual human gathering peacefully and securely, further solidifying its leading position in the Islamic world and internationally.
