
The Minister of Hajj praises the King Abdulaziz Library branch at Peking University
In a move reflecting the depth of cultural and diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the People's Republic of China, His Excellency the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, commended the exceptional efforts and enlightening role played by the King Abdulaziz Public Library branch at Peking University. His Excellency affirmed that the library has become a beacon of culture, effectively contributing to the dissemination of Arab and Islamic culture within Chinese society and serving as a strong bridge for knowledge exchange between the two friendly nations.
Enhancing the Kingdom's cultural and intellectual presence
This praise came during an official visit by His Excellency to the library's headquarters in Beijing, accompanied by the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to China, Mr. Abdulrahman bin Ahmed Al-Harbi. During the visit, the Minister was briefed on a range of innovative initiatives offered by the branch, which go beyond the traditional concept of libraries. These initiatives include Arabic language programs for non-native speakers, the dissemination of Saudi arts and literature, and reciprocal translation projects aimed at translating masterpieces of Saudi literature and heritage into Chinese, and introducing Arab readers to the treasures of China's rich cultural heritage.

This visit comes within the framework of strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. The King Abdulaziz Library branch at Peking University represents one of the most important fruits of cultural cooperation within the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and China's Belt and Road Initiative. During his tour of the library facilities, His Excellency the Minister of Hajj and Umrah visited the permanent exhibition of Arabic calligraphy, which showcases the beauty of Islamic arts to the Chinese public. The presentation included a review of the most significant achievements during 2025, as well as an outline of the operational plan for 2026, which aims to expand the scope of cultural activities and increase the exchange of knowledge.
