More than 70,000 vehicles crossed towards Mecca during the Hajj season
The importance of the Hajj season and its historical background
Hajj, the fifth pillar of Islam, is a spiritual journey that draws the hearts of millions of Muslims from around the world. Historically, the pilgrimage was fraught with danger and took many months, traversing barren deserts by camel caravan. Today, thanks to the generous care and tremendous efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, this journey has been transformed into a safe and accessible experience. This transformation is facilitated by advanced infrastructure and modern road networks connecting the Kingdom's cities to Mecca and the holy sites. This development reflects the Kingdom's historical and religious commitment to serving the pilgrims, aligning with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to increase the capacity to receive Umrah and Hajj pilgrims and provide them with the highest quality services.
Statistics on vehicles crossing towards Mecca
As part of operational and organizational efforts aimed at facilitating the movement of pilgrims during the Hajj season, the General Authority for Roads recorded a significant achievement with over 70,000 vehicles traversing the various roads leading to the Holy City of Mecca. These statistics confirm the efficiency of the road network and its capacity to accommodate high traffic volumes and enhance mobility in all directions.

The local, regional, and international impact of successful transport plans
The success of crowd and traffic management during the Hajj season extends beyond the local level, impacting regionally and internationally. Locally, these efforts showcase the efficiency of Saudi personnel in managing the world's largest human gatherings with competence and capability. Regionally and internationally, the smooth flow and safety of pilgrims reflect a positive and bright image of the Kingdom, reassuring governments and citizens of Islamic countries about their nationals. Providing a safe and efficient road network reduces traffic accidents and ensures that pilgrims reach the holy sites on time to perform their rituals with ease and convenience.
Roads remain ready to serve pilgrims
To ensure the sustainability of this success, the General Authority for Roads affirmed its continued operational and field readiness around the clock across all roads leading to the Holy Sites. This readiness includes meticulous monitoring of traffic flow and ongoing efforts to enhance safety and services provided to pilgrims. These integrated efforts directly contribute to smooth traffic flow and provide maximum comfort for pilgrims during the Hajj season, making their spiritual journey safe and easy.
