Minister of Interior: Hajj season plans for 1447 AH were a success in terms of security, health, and organization

His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee, announced the success of the approved plans for this year's Hajj season (1447 AH) at all security, organizational, and service levels. His Highness attributed this success, after God's grace, to the unlimited support and wise guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the diligent follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Historical context and ongoing efforts

Managing the Hajj pilgrimage is one of the world's greatest logistical and organizational challenges, as millions of Muslims from around the globe converge on a limited geographical area within a short timeframe to perform the fifth pillar of Islam. Since its founding by King Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has given the utmost priority to serving the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors, considering it a historical honor and responsibility. Over the decades, the Kingdom has invested enormous resources in developing the infrastructure of the holy sites, including the expansion of the Two Holy Mosques, the construction of advanced road and bridge networks, and the development of the Al-Mashaaer Metro, all aimed at facilitating the pilgrims' journey and ensuring their safety and comfort.

The importance of the season's success and its impact

The success of the Hajj season has an impact not only locally, but also regionally and internationally. Locally, it bolsters national pride and underscores the high level of competence of Saudi government agencies in managing the largest annual religious gathering. Internationally, the successful organization reinforces the Kingdom's position as a leader of the Islamic world and reaffirms its pivotal role in the custodianship of Islam's holy sites. It also sends a reassuring message to the world about the stability of the region and the Kingdom's ability to secure this massive global event, which reflects positively on its diplomatic and economic reputation.

Integrated system of services

The Minister of Interior pointed out that the Kingdom has dedicated all its human and technological resources to serving the pilgrims through an integrated system of security, health, municipal, and organizational services. He explained that the pilgrims experienced their spiritual journey in safety and tranquility from the moment they arrived in the Kingdom via air, land, and sea ports, and throughout their movements between the holy sites and the performance of their rituals. Modern technologies, such as artificial intelligence and smart Hajj applications, have contributed to facilitating crowd management and providing services efficiently and quickly, representing a qualitative leap forward in line with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 to enhance the Hajj and Umrah experience.

Appreciation for the efforts and thanks to the pilgrims

His Royal Highness the Minister of Interior conveyed the greetings and congratulations of the wise leadership to all personnel involved in implementing the Hajj security plans, including the Ministries of Interior, Defense, and National Guard, as well as the Presidency of State Security and the General Intelligence Directorate, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha and the successful Hajj season. His Royal Highness commended the professional and collaborative efforts demonstrated by all, which contributed to achieving the season's objectives. He also expressed his gratitude to the pilgrims for their adherence to the instructions and regulations, which played a major role in the success of the plans designed to serve them.
