The first phase of the Hajj security plan has been completed, and fake campaigns have been cracked down

Introduction: A new security achievement during the Hajj season

The Saudi Ministry of Interior, through its security spokesman Colonel Talal bin Abdulmohsen bin Shalhoub, announced the successful completion of the first phase of the Hajj security plan. This announcement confirms the Kingdom's complete readiness to serve the pilgrims and ensure their safety during the Hajj rituals, within a comprehensive system of security and service coordination that guarantees the smooth flow and safety of the pilgrims.

Historical context and ongoing efforts of the Kingdom

Throughout history, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has devoted considerable attention and care to organizing the Hajj pilgrimage, dedicating all its material and human resources to ensuring the comfort of pilgrims. Hajj security plans evolve year after year to keep pace with the increasing number of pilgrims and the logistical challenges. Managing millions of people in a limited geographical area and within a short timeframe is one of the most complex organizational operations globally, a feat accomplished with efficiency and competence thanks to accumulated strategic planning and deep-rooted security expertise inherited over decades.

The “Makkah Route” initiative and facilitating access for pilgrims

Colonel Bin Shalhoub explained that pilgrims arrived in the Kingdom safely and securely through various air, land, and sea ports. Many benefited from the “Makkah Route” initiative, a pioneering strategic program designed to streamline entry procedures for pilgrims from their home countries. This initiative was implemented in ten countries through seventeen international ports of entry, reflecting the positive regional and international impact of the Kingdom’s efforts, under the direct supervision of the Minister of Interior, Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee.

“No Hajj without a permit” campaign and crackdown on violators

In order to ensure the safety of registered pilgrims and prevent overcrowding that could lead to serious incidents, the Ministry of Interior has intensified the strict enforcement of the “No Hajj Without a Permit” campaign. These decisive efforts have resulted in the apprehension of 231 individuals transporting unauthorized pilgrims, as well as the dismantling of 246 fraudulent Hajj campaigns. Legal penalties have been applied to violators, leading to a significant decrease in the number of offenders, which is positively impacting the quality of services provided to registered pilgrims.

Employing artificial intelligence and modern technologies

The efforts were not limited to a large human presence, but extended to employing the latest global technologies. Artificial intelligence-powered technological capabilities have contributed to tightening control over the entrances and pathways leading to the Holy City and the holy sites. These technologies assist in managing and organizing crowds within the Grand Mosque, the Jamarat facility, and the Al-Mashaaer train stations with extreme precision, thus reducing risks and ensuring the smooth flow of traffic and pedestrian movement.

A message of reassurance to the guests of God

Security sectors continue their duties escorting pilgrims during their movements between the holy sites, from the ascent to Arafat, then the departure to Muzdalifah, culminating in the Tawaf al-Ifadah and the stoning of the Jamarat. The security spokesperson delivered a message of welcome and reassurance to the pilgrims, urging them to adhere to the instructions. He concluded by saying, “You are in a nation honored to serve you, and your safety and security are its top priorities,” reflecting the humanitarian vision and religious duty undertaken by the Kingdom.
