Hajj City in Halat Ammar welcomes the first pilgrims for the 1447 AH season
Complete preparations in the city of Hajj in the state of Ammar
Under the direct supervision and guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Fahd bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Tabuk Region and General Supervisor of Hajj Operations in the region, the Hajj Terminal at the Halat Ammar border crossing began receiving the first groups of pilgrims arriving by land to perform Hajj this year, 1447 AH. All governmental, service, and private entities have mobilized their resources to provide a comprehensive system of services that ensures a smooth and comfortable spiritual journey for pilgrims from the moment they arrive in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
A historical gateway for overland pilgrimage
The Halat Ammar border crossing, located on the Saudi-Jordanian border, is one of the Kingdom's most important land crossings and holds great historical significance as a primary gateway for pilgrims arriving from the Levant, North Africa, Turkey, and other countries. Throughout history, this crossing has been a vital point of passage for pilgrim caravans, and today, the Kingdom continues to develop and equip it with the latest technologies and facilities. The "Pilgrims' City" at Halat Ammar embodies this commitment, designed as a model reception center that provides pilgrims with all the essential and logistical services they need before continuing their journey to the holy sites.
24/7 service system
The Hajj City operates like a beehive around the clock, with the coordinated efforts of various sectors to serve the pilgrims. This system includes personnel from the General Directorate of Passports to facilitate smooth entry procedures, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, and the Ministry of Health, which provides fully equipped health centers and preventive and curative medical teams. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance also participates by educating pilgrims and distributing informational brochures, alongside security agencies that ensure the safety and security of the pilgrims. Volunteers and non-profit organizations play an active role in welcoming pilgrims warmly, offering meals, water, and cold drinks, thus showcasing the renowned hospitality of Saudi Arabia.
Strategic importance and positive impact
The importance of the Hajj City extends beyond mere service provision to encompass strategic and economic dimensions. Locally, these seasonal operations contribute to stimulating economic activity in the Tabuk region. Nationally, these efforts reflect the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to serving the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors, a cornerstone of its policy and its leading role in the Islamic world. These advanced services also align with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to enrich the religious experience of pilgrims and Umrah performers and facilitate their journey.
Positive impressions and appreciation from the pilgrims
The arriving pilgrims expressed their profound gratitude and appreciation to the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince – may God protect them – for the warm welcome, comprehensive services, and extensive facilities they received from the moment of their arrival. They praised the smooth processing of procedures and the meticulous organization, affirming that these exceptional services alleviated the hardships of travel and provided them with a comfortable start to their spiritual journey to Makkah and Madinah. They explained that the organization they witnessed reflects the high level of professionalism the Kingdom has achieved in managing the Hajj season and serving millions of Muslims arriving from all corners of the earth.
