General context: A historic commitment and an ambitious vision

Historically, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has devoted considerable attention and care to serving pilgrims to the Holy Mosque in Mecca since its unification. In modern times, this commitment is embodied in the "Guests of God Service Program," a key component of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to transform the Hajj and Umrah experience. Healthcare and rigorous food and drug control are fundamental pillars of this program, with procedures continuously evolving to meet the latest global standards in crowd management and public health.

Strategic importance and overall impact

These preparations and oversight efforts are of paramount importance and have a far-reaching impact. Domestically, these measures ensure the protection of public health within the Kingdom and prevent any health crises or cases of food poisoning in the Holy Sites. Regionally and internationally, the Kingdom's success in ensuring the safety of millions of pilgrims from around the world reflects the efficiency of the Saudi healthcare system and directly contributes to preventing the spread of transboundary diseases, thus strengthening global health security and establishing the management of massive human gatherings during Hajj as an international model to be emulated.

Integration of the health system to serve pilgrims

This inspection tour is part of a series of ongoing field visits by His Excellency the Minister of Health to closely monitor the progress of work across the entire healthcare system. The ultimate goal of these visits is to ensure complete readiness to serve pilgrims with high quality and provide a healthy and safe environment that enables them to perform their rituals with ease, comfort, and peace of mind, embodying the Kingdom's deeply rooted humanitarian and Islamic mission of caring for those visiting the Two Holy Mosques.
