As part of ongoing efforts to enhance national health security and improve the readiness of air entry points, the Qassim Health Cluster the results of its preventive and medical work at the Health Control Center at Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Qassim during 2025. These figures reflect the significant development in the Kingdom's healthcare system and align with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program, a key pillar of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which prioritizes prevention and public health.

Integrated monitoring and border protection system

Official statistics revealed that the center implemented a massive package of health procedures, exceeding 484,000 international measures , underscoring the high efficiency of the medical and technical staff working at the airport. Visual and thermal screening was paramount, with specialized teams handling 400,354 passengers . These procedures serve as the first line of defense for the early detection of any cross-border epidemic threats, ensuring the stability of the health situation within the Kingdom and preventing the spread of infectious diseases.

Quality services for pilgrims and travelers

Given the strategic importance of Prince Nayef Airport as a primary gateway for pilgrims from the region and surrounding areas, the center gave special attention to the pilgrims, subjecting 4,897 arrivals to perform Umrah to thorough health checks to ensure their safety. In parallel, 57,474 procedures were implemented to strictly enforce international health regulations, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to the International Health Regulations (IHR).

In terms of direct treatment services, the airport medical clinic provided its services to 5,683 beneficiaries , including 1,240 medical and emergency interventions for emergency and routine cases, highlighting the center’s readiness to deal with various health conditions that may arise for travelers during their journeys.

Promoting community immunity and a safe environment

The efforts of the Qassim Health Cluster were not limited to monitoring and surveillance, but extended to proactive preventative measures. Health teams successfully conducted 14,326 seasonal influenza vaccination campaigns , targeting travelers and workers to reduce the spread of respiratory infections. Staff also efficiently handled 286 respiratory triage cases and 140 emergency cases requiring immediate intervention, in addition to transporting 24 critical cases by ambulance to receive advanced care at referral hospitals.

In the context of maintaining a safe travel environment, specialized teams carried out 133 disinfection and sterilization operations for aircraft , to ensure that air transport is free of any pollutants or disease vectors, thus enhancing travelers’ confidence in the safety procedures followed at the Kingdom’s airports.
