Islamic Affairs: Awareness services for pilgrims at Madinah Airport

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by its branch in the Madinah region, announced the intensification of its field efforts to serve pilgrims arriving through Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport. This step comes as a continuation of the noble mission undertaken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in caring for pilgrims, Umrah performers, and visitors, and providing all means to help them perform their rituals with ease and tranquility.
Guidance services in multiple international languages
As part of its commitment to effective communication with visitors of all nationalities, the Ministry has activated awareness points in arrival halls (1) and (5) at the airport. A specialized team distributes a wide range of brochures and informational pamphlets aimed at teaching pilgrims and Umrah performers the proper way to perform the rituals according to the Prophet's teachings. To ensure that accurate information reaches everyone, these publications are available in several major international languages, including Arabic, English, Urdu, Pashto, Indonesian, Russian, and Persian.
Digital transformation in serving the pilgrims
In keeping with technological advancements, the Ministry has not limited itself to printed materials but has enhanced its services by providing a QR code for the Islamic electronic library. This smart service allows users to download thousands of reliable books and scholarly materials directly to their smartphones, making it easier for them to access Islamic information anytime, anywhere, and eliminating the need to carry physical books. This reflects the significant development in the system of religious services provided.
The context of interest in the city of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)
These efforts are of particular importance given Madinah's status as a major destination for pilgrims, both before and after performing Hajj and Umrah, to visit the Prophet's Mosque and offer greetings to the Prophet Muhammad and his two companions. As part of its Vision 2030, the Kingdom is working to increase capacity and improve services for pilgrims, with religious guidance being a fundamental pillar to ensure that religious practices are performed correctly, avoiding extremism or innovation, thus enhancing the spiritual tranquility of visitors.
Expected impact of awareness services
These initiatives directly contribute to removing obstacles for visitors, especially the language barrier that those coming from non-Arabic speaking countries may face. By providing reliable and simplified information, the Ministry helps alleviate anxiety among new pilgrims and guides them on the proper Islamic etiquette for the visit, which positively impacts the flow of movement in the holy sites and the Prophet's Mosque, and reaffirms to the world the Kingdom's leading role in serving Islam and Muslims.
