Distributing one million educational books to pilgrims in Madinah in 2025
As part of ongoing efforts to serve pilgrims to the Two Holy Mosques, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by its branch in the Madinah region, announced the distribution of 1,060,492 copies of educational and guidance books to pilgrims and visitors during the year 2025. This initiative reinforces the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's leading role in caring for pilgrims and Umrah performers and facilitating their spiritual journey.
Linguistic and intellectual diversity to serve visitors
The Ministry ensured that the materials provided were comprehensive and met the needs of visitors from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. The publications included essential titles for every pilgrim and visitor, most notably: “The Description of Umrah,” “Fortress of the Muslim,” and “The Pilgrim’s Guide.” To guarantee clear communication, these publications were made available in eight major world languages: Arabic, English, Urdu, Turkish, Russian, Hindi, Uzbek, and Indonesian, reflecting the comprehensive nature of the services offered to pilgrims.
Comprehensive geographic coverage of access points
The distribution plan included strategic points covering all entry points and vital locations frequented by visitors, to ensure awareness campaigns accompanied them from the moment they arrived. Field teams were deployed in:
- Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah.
- Prince Abdulmohsen bin Abdulaziz Regional Airport in Yanbu Governorate.
- Hajj City in the Khyber Governorate for those arriving by land.
- Miqat Dhu al-Hulayfah (Abar Ali).
- The major mosques and mosques west of the Prophet's Mosque.
- The comprehensive service center is located in the courtyards surrounding the Prophet's Mosque.
Enhancing religious awareness and keeping pace with Vision 2030
These efforts are particularly important given the increasing number of pilgrims and visitors, as the Ministry aims to disseminate correct religious awareness based on a moderate and balanced approach, and to facilitate the performance of rituals while avoiding errors and violations of Islamic law. This initiative is an integral part of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 objectives, specifically within the "Guests of God Service Program," which seeks to enrich the religious and cultural experience of pilgrims and Umrah performers, and to provide high-quality services befitting the Kingdom's status as the custodian of the Islamic holy sites.
These huge distribution figures confirm the high level of preparedness and proactive plans put in place by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs to ensure a successful Umrah and visit season, as it harnesses all its human and material capabilities to serve the visitors of the Prophet’s Mosque, may God bless him and grant him peace, and to provide the spiritual atmosphere that enables them to perform their worship with ease and tranquility.
