Islamic Affairs intensifies awareness programs for Umrah pilgrims in Makkah 1447 AH

As part of its ongoing efforts to serve pilgrims, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by the General Secretariat for Islamic Awareness in Hajj, Umrah and Visitation, has intensified its outreach and guidance activities and programs in mosques surrounding the Grand Mosque in Makkah. This initiative is part of the launch of the second phase of the Islamic awareness plan for the current Umrah season (1447 AH), through which the Ministry aims to provide high-quality services to pilgrims and visitors, ensuring they can perform their rituals with ease, comfort, and peace of mind.
These programs are of paramount importance given the esteemed position of Mecca in the hearts of Muslims and the leading role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in caring for the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors. Through these efforts, the Ministry works to solidify the Kingdom's noble message of promoting moderation and presenting a positive image of Islam by harnessing all available human and technological resources to serve pilgrims from around the world.
The operational plan for the second phase includes the participation of a distinguished group of official preachers from the Ministry, along with a number of qualified translators proficient in multiple international languages, to ensure that the religious and guidance message reaches all pilgrims, regardless of their language or culture. The programs offered are diverse, ranging from a series of daily lessons and impactful sermons to intensive guidance lectures held during the times of the obligatory prayers, thus allowing the largest possible number of worshippers to benefit.
Thematic focus of these programs is on essential aspects relevant to pilgrims, primarily explaining the rituals of Umrah step-by-step according to the Prophetic tradition, clarifying matters of sound doctrine and monotheism, and promoting intellectual security and combating extremism and fanaticism. The lessons also cover Islamic legal transactions, the virtues of venerating the Holy City, and the merits of Islam, with ample time dedicated to directly and promptly answering pilgrims' religious inquiries.
These tireless efforts come under the guidance and direct supervision of His Excellency the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdul Aziz Al Sheikh, who is always keen to develop the system of advocacy work and activate the role of the Ministry in raising awareness among pilgrims and teaching them how to perform their rituals according to the guidance of the Holy Qur’an and the purified Sunnah of the Prophet, in order to achieve the aspirations of the wise leadership in providing the finest services to the guests of God.
