The Ministry of Islamic Affairs is training 800 preachers to promote moderation and keep pace with the times

The fourth training course for preachers, organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Dawah and Guidance Agency, will begin tomorrow. This initiative is part of the Ministry's ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency of its preachers and develop their skills to meet the demands of the modern era.

A comprehensive strategy for developing advocacy work

This course falls under the fourth national plan for training religious leaders, an integral part of the Kingdom's broader strategy under Vision 2030, which places great emphasis on instilling the values of moderation and rejecting extremism. The Ministry works diligently to ensure that religious discourse is balanced and relevant to current events, as training religious leaders is a cornerstone in safeguarding the intellectual security of society and strengthening national unity.

Statistics and an upward trend in rehabilitation

The current iteration of the program aims to train 800 preachers, including newly appointed preachers as well as those who were unsuccessful in the written exams and personal interviews in previous sessions. The figures reveal a steady increase in training, with 600 preachers benefiting from the first session, 560 from the second, and 600 from the third, bringing the total number of contracted preachers to 2,294. This reflects the significant human capital investment the Ministry is making in this vital sector.

Course objectives and keeping pace with digital transformation

The objectives of these training programs are not limited to the traditional legal aspects, but extend to developing cognitive and scientific skills through multiple methodological and intellectual approaches. The Ministry's new plans focus on empowering preachers to use modern technologies and digital communication tools to ensure that the message of Islam reaches diverse segments of society, especially young people, in effective and engaging ways.

Expected impact locally and regionally

These courses are expected to contribute to a qualitative leap in the quality of religious discourse in the Kingdom, thus enhancing Saudi Arabia's position as a leading Islamic authority that promotes tolerance and peaceful coexistence. The presence of qualified preachers, both academically and professionally, directly contributes to combating extremist ideologies and correcting misconceptions, which will positively impact social and intellectual stability in the region.
