How to issue a vehicle repair certificate via Absher: Requirements and steps

As part of Saudi Arabia's rapid digital transformation under Vision 2030, the Absher e-platform continues to enhance its services for citizens and residents, aiming to streamline government procedures and reduce the need to visit traditional branches. The "Vehicle Repair Form" service is one of the most prominent services launched by the Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Directorate of Traffic, and has revolutionized the handling of vehicle accidents and repair procedures.
The importance and impact of the reform paper service
This service is of paramount importance on both security and regulatory levels; it ensures that no vehicle involved in an accident is repaired without official documentation, thus contributing to the preservation of rights and preventing the cover-up of traffic or criminal incidents. Previously, obtaining a repair permit required visiting traffic departments and enduring long waits; today, users can complete the process in just a few minutes via their mobile phones, reflecting the advancement of the Kingdom's technological infrastructure.
Steps to obtain a vehicle repair certificate via Absher
The Absher platform has clarified the official steps approved for accessing the service and issuing the permit electronically, which are as follows:
- Log in to the beneficiary's account on the Absher Individuals .
- Select the vehicle services from the main menu.
- Click on the Services .
- Choosing a vehicle management .
- Identify the vehicle in question and then select the option to issue a vehicle repair permit .
Terms and conditions of service
To ensure the application is accepted and the document is issued successfully, the General Directorate of Traffic has set a number of conditions that the system checks automatically:
- Beneficiary record: There must be no "arrest warrant" registered in the wanted persons system against the applicant.
- Vehicle record: The vehicle to be repaired must be free of any security circulars such as (theft) or be required for transfer of ownership.
Rules for issuing permits for both registered and unregistered accidents
The system for issuing the document varies depending on the incident recorded in the system, according to the following rules:
1. Recorded accidents (approved by traffic or Najm)
- The application must be submitted within a maximum period of 90 days from the date of the accident and its registration.
- The beneficiary can issue more than one repair certificate for the same vehicle at the same time, provided that each certificate is related to a different accident and is registered with an independent reference number.
2. Unrecorded accidents
- If the beneficiary wishes to repair minor dents or accidents that are not officially recorded, the system allows only one application for the same vehicle during a single calendar year.
- After the document is issued, you must go to the approved workshops, as no workshop is allowed to receive the vehicle without this digital permit. The workshop manager will scan the barcode to verify the permit's validity before starting work.
It is worth mentioning that this service comes as part of a package of digital traffic services, such as driving authorization and license renewal, all of which aim to improve traffic safety efficiency and save time and effort for beneficiaries.
