Italy praises the efforts of the King Salman Center for Relief and Reconstruction in Gaza

In the context of strengthening international cooperation to address humanitarian crises, the Advisor and Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center , represented by the Director of the Partnerships and International Relations Department, Dr. Hanaa Omar, met today at the Center's headquarters in Riyadh with a high-level delegation from the Republic of Italy, headed by the Special Envoy for the Reconstruction of Gaza, Ambassador Bruno Arce. The meeting was also attended by several Center leaders, including the Director of the Emergency Relief Department, Fahd bin Ayedh Al-Osaimi, and the Director of the Branches Department, Mubarak bin Saeed Al-Dosari.

Exploring ways to rebuild Gaza

During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of important issues related to relief and humanitarian affairs, with the mechanisms for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip the agenda. They also discussed the logistical and field challenges facing humanitarian work in the Strip, and ways to enhance joint cooperation to ensure aid reaches those affected efficiently and quickly. In addition, they reviewed opportunities for coordinating efforts between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Italy on this critical matter.

The Kingdom's leading role in humanitarian work

These discussions are an extension of the historical and leading role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting the Palestinian cause on all levels. Since the outbreak of the recent crisis, the Kingdom, through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, has swiftly established air and sea bridges carrying thousands of tons of food, medical supplies, and shelter materials, in addition to launching a popular campaign to aid the Palestinian people. This reflects the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to standing with its brothers and sisters in Palestine and alleviating their suffering.

The importance of international partnership in crises

This meeting is of particular importance given the urgent need to unify international efforts to address the massive destruction of infrastructure in the Gaza Strip. Italy's participation through a special envoy is indicative of European interest in coordinating with key regional players, particularly Saudi Arabia, to ensure that reconstruction projects are implemented according to standards that guarantee the sustainability of essential services for the Strip's residents.
