Jazan: Transporter of 10 border security violators arrested | Saudi Arabia News
As part of ongoing efforts to enhance security and protect the borders of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, patrols from the General Directorate of Mujahideen in the Jazan region apprehended a Yemeni resident for transporting 10 individuals who violated border security regulations. This operation underscores the vigilance of Saudi security forces and their resolute response to all attempts to undermine the security and stability of the nation.
According to details, the resident was apprehended while transporting a group of undocumented individuals, including Ethiopian and Yemeni nationals, in an attempt to smuggle them into other regions of the Kingdom. All those involved were detained, and initial legal procedures were initiated against them before their referral to the relevant authorities and subsequently to the Public Prosecution for further investigation and the application of the prescribed penalties.
Ongoing efforts to combat networks transporting violators of the border security system
The Jazan region, due to its geographical location bordering Yemen, is a key point of contact for combating infiltration and smuggling attempts. Saudi authorities face ongoing challenges from organized networks that exploit the difficult regional conditions to facilitate the illegal entry of individuals. These operations not only violate the law but also pose a security, economic, and social threat, as some infiltrators may be linked to other criminal activities. This operation is part of the Kingdom's intensified security campaigns, such as the "A Nation Without Violators" campaign, which aims to track down violators of residency, labor, and border security regulations and enforce the law against them and those who assist them.
Deterrent penalties and an affirmation of the rule of law
Security authorities have reiterated that the penalties for facilitating the entry of violators of border security regulations into the Kingdom, transporting them within its borders, or providing them with shelter are severe and deterrent. The official spokesperson for the General Directorate of Mujahideen explained that anyone proven to be involved in such acts is subject to harsh penalties, including imprisonment for up to 15 years and a fine of up to one million Saudi riyals. In addition, the penalties include confiscation of the vehicle and residence used in the crime, and public shaming of those involved. He emphasized that this crime is considered a major offense warranting arrest and is a breach of honor and integrity, stressing that there will be no leniency in enforcing the regulations to maintain the security of the nation.
Social responsibility in maintaining national security
The official spokesperson urged citizens and residents alike to cooperate with security authorities and immediately report any suspected violations of residency, labor, and border security regulations. Reports can be made by calling the designated numbers: 911 in the Makkah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions, and 999 and 996 in the rest of the Kingdom. He emphasized that all reports are treated with complete confidentiality and that this cooperation is a fundamental pillar of the comprehensive security system aimed at protecting society and ensuring its stability.
