Jazan: 9,700 mosques prepared for Ramadan 1447 AH and volunteer opportunities offered

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by its branch in the Jazan region, announced the completion of all technical and logistical preparations for the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH. These preparations included the readiness and equipping of more than 9,700 mosques, prayer halls, and women's prayer areas distributed across the region's various governorates and centers, ensuring their full preparedness to receive worshippers during this great season of faith.
Caring for the houses of God: a fundamental pillar and a constant concern
These intensive efforts are part of the noble mission undertaken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to care for and maintain mosques and to serve worshippers and pilgrims. These preparations are particularly important in the Jazan region, which is characterized by a high population density and a strong community commitment to observing the rituals of the holy month. These early preparations reflect the Ministry's dedication to providing a safe and comfortable environment for worship, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which emphasizes improving the quality of services provided to pilgrims and those who frequent mosques.
Details of maintenance and preparation work
The branch's comprehensive action plan included a wide range of measures, encompassing routine and emergency maintenance, intensified cleaning operations, and a complete overhaul of the facilities. Significant emphasis was placed on sanitization and fragrance, as well as addressing any technical issues that might affect the comfort of worshippers. These meticulous measures aim to provide a spiritually uplifting and tranquil atmosphere, enabling worshippers to perform their religious duties, particularly the Taraweeh and Qiyam prayers, in a clean and healthy environment befitting the sanctity of the place and time.
Promoting volunteer work during Ramadan
Believing in the importance of community participation, the Ministry's branch in Jazan launched a broad volunteer initiative coinciding with the start of the holy month, offering 840 diverse volunteer opportunities. These opportunities range from organizational tasks such as managing crowds of worshippers during entry and exit, directly supervising iftar meals, distributing water bottles, actively participating in cleaning and minor maintenance work, and replacing old copies of the Quran with new ones.
The branch has allocated 5,800 volunteer positions for these initiatives, with a total expected volunteer work time exceeding 17,500 hours. These volunteer efforts will cover 630 mosques, prayer halls, and women's prayer rooms, reflecting the spirit of solidarity and cooperation that characterizes Saudi society.
Social and spiritual impact
The importance of these preparations extends beyond mere organizational aspects, encompassing a profound social and spiritual impact. Through partnerships with government entities and non-profit organizations, the branch seeks to solidify the values of social responsibility and strengthen solidarity within the community. Preparing mosques to this high standard contributes to reinforcing social bonds during the holy month and underscores the mosque's pivotal role as a beacon of religious and cultural enlightenment that unites hearts and fosters unity.
