Thousands of health certificates issued in Jeddah to promote food safety

The Jeddah Municipality revealed its regulatory achievements for May, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to enhancing public health and food safety standards in the city. In this context, the municipality announced the issuance and renewal of 14,516 health certificates in Jeddah, in addition to the testing of 7,872 food samples through its laboratories. These figures reflect its ongoing efforts to ensure the quality of services provided to residents and visitors, and to solidify Jeddah's position as a healthy and safe city.

Intensive monitoring efforts to ensure food safety and health certificates in Jeddah

The municipality explained that the intensive field inspection tours covered health and food establishments across 11 sub-municipalities, aiming to raise their compliance with approved health requirements. These efforts are not limited to simply enforcing regulations, but also aim to build a strong culture of commitment to quality and safety, which directly impacts the quality of products and services offered to consumers. These periodic campaigns contribute to protecting the community from foodborne illnesses and enhancing confidence in the local business sector.

A vital role in supporting Jeddah's position as a global destination

These efforts are doubly important given Jeddah's status as a major gateway to the Two Holy Mosques and a vital commercial and tourist hub that welcomes millions of visitors annually. Food safety and public health are not merely local requirements, but integral to the Kingdom's reputation regionally and internationally. These measures align with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which prioritizes quality of life. This rigorous oversight ensures a healthy and safe environment befitting the city's status as a leading global destination, thereby enhancing its appeal for investment and tourism.

Streamlining procedures through digital transformation

The Jeddah Municipality confirmed its ongoing commitment to developing its services to keep pace with the Kingdom's digital transformation. Businesses can now easily access municipal services through the "Baladi" digital platform. This platform allows for the issuance, renewal, and printing of health certificates electronically, eliminating the need to visit municipal offices. This is achieved through a direct technical link between medical examination results and the Ministry of Health's platform. This digital integration not only expedites procedures and saves time and effort for business owners but also enhances data accuracy and the transparency of oversight processes, thus supporting a more efficient and compliant business environment.
