Jeddah Municipality: 5,992 health certificates issued and 7,626 food samples tested
As part of its ongoing efforts to promote public health and ensure food safety for residents and visitors, the Jeddah Municipality its statistical report for February, which included the issuance and renewal of 5,992 health certificates for workers in food and commercial establishments. These figures reflect the municipality's diligent work to maintain quality standards in the markets.
Intensive efforts to inspect and ensure food safety
The municipality explained that its inspection teams and laboratory department examined 7,626 food samples during the same period. These procedures fall under the "Ijadah" program, which aims to develop municipal oversight and improve the quality of services. The field visits covered 11 sub-municipalities, focusing on health and food establishments to ensure that food is free of contaminants and conforms to Saudi standards, which directly contributes to increasing compliance rates.
Digital transformation and streamlining procedures through the "Baladi" platform
In a related context, and in line with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 for digital transformation and streamlining the customer journey, the Jeddah Municipality confirmed that accessing municipal services has become easier and more convenient. Businesses and individuals can now benefit from services through the Baladi platform , which allows for the immediate issuance and printing of health certificates without the need to visit the municipality headquarters. This mechanism relies on a direct electronic link between medical examination results and the "Seha" platform, ensuring data accuracy and speed of processing.

These oversight efforts are of particular importance given Jeddah's status as the gateway to the Two Holy Mosques and a major tourist destination on the Red Sea coast. Ensuring food safety extends beyond health concerns to include bolstering confidence in the tourism and service sectors. The Secretariat concluded its report by emphasizing the continuation of its field inspection tours, calling on business owners to continuously adhere to health requirements and to update certificates regularly in order to avoid violations and contribute to protecting the community.
