Jeddah Municipality: 7,000 health certificates issued and 7,400 food samples tested
As part of its ongoing efforts to promote public health and ensure the safety of food provided to residents and visitors, the Jeddah Municipality released its monitoring statistics for January, which showed a significant increase in activity related to issuing licenses and conducting laboratory tests. The municipality announced the issuance and renewal of 6,993 health certificates , in addition to testing 7,448 food samples through its specialized laboratories department, reflecting the extensive work being done to improve the quality of municipal services.
Digital transformation and streamlining procedures through "Baladi"
These figures reflect the success of the digital transformation plans implemented by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing. The Ministry explained that owners of commercial and food establishments can now benefit from streamlined services through the "Baladi" . This platform allows for the electronic issuance and printing of health certificates with high flexibility and without the need to visit the Ministry's offices, thanks to the direct technical link between medical examination results and the "Seha" platform. This saves time and effort and enhances the investment environment.
The "Ijada" program and expanding the scope of oversight
The municipality indicated that the intensive inspection tours covered health and food establishments located within 11 sub-municipalities . These tours fall under the umbrella of the "Ijadah" , an ambitious national initiative aimed at raising compliance rates with health and technical requirements in commercial establishments. This program directly contributes to improving the urban landscape and ensuring the provision of high-quality services, which positively impacts customer satisfaction and enhances confidence in the food and beverage sector.
