Jeddah Municipality launches "Your Iftar with Us 4" initiative to serve Umrah pilgrims during Ramadan

The Jeddah Municipality announced the launch of the fourth edition of its distinguished annual initiative, "Your Iftar with Us 4," coinciding with the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH (2026 CE). This step comes as a continuation of the successes achieved by the initiative in its previous seasons, and as a confirmation of the vital role played by the municipality in promoting the values of social solidarity and serving those visiting the Holy Mosque in Mecca.
A daily station of giving at the gate of Mecca
The initiative aims to distribute breakfast meals daily throughout the holy month, targeting pilgrims and travelers heading to Mecca. Distribution points are strategically located along Prince Mohammed bin Salman Expressway, specifically at the Al-Rahili Station, a major artery for the flow of pilgrims towards the Grand Mosque.
Social context and importance of the initiative
The "Your Iftar with Us" initiative holds special significance beyond simply distributing meals; it reflects the cultural and civilizational heritage of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in its hospitality and welcoming of visitors, especially in Jeddah, known as the "Gateway to the Two Holy Mosques." This initiative also contributes to enhancing road safety by helping drivers reduce their speed at sunset to reach their destinations for Iftar, thus decreasing traffic accidents during peak hours and providing travelers with a convenient and enjoyable meal.
Volunteer efforts in line with the Kingdom's vision
In a related context, Engineer Hattan bin Hashem Hamouda, Director General of Social Responsibility at the Jeddah Municipality, explained that the initiative's continuation for the fourth year is a testament to the municipality's unwavering commitment to its social role. He pointed out that the fieldwork relies entirely on the efforts of the municipality's volunteers, aligning with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 to reach one million volunteers and increase the contribution of the non-profit sector.
The volunteers manage the field with high professionalism to ensure that meals reach those fasting with the highest standards of quality and food safety, while maintaining smooth traffic flow and speed of distribution, thus presenting an honorable model of generous Saudi youth.
Institutionalizing and sustaining charitable work
The "Your Iftar with Us 4" initiative embodies the Jeddah Municipality's vision of transforming charitable work from individual efforts into a sustainable and organized institutional endeavor. This step aims to instill a culture of organized volunteering and raise awareness of social responsibility among the municipality's staff and the city's residents.
Engineer Hamouda concluded his statement by emphasizing the Jeddah Municipality’s commitment to developing this initiative and expanding its impact annually, highlighting the authentic spirit of generosity and giving that characterizes Saudi society during the holy month, and enhancing the spiritual experience of the pilgrims.
