Delivery of Jood Housing units begins in accordance with the Crown Prince's directive

The Development Housing Foundation (Sakān) officially announced the launch of the first phase of housing unit deliveries to beneficiaries across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This significant step comes in implementation of the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect him – following his generous and unprecedented donation of one billion riyals from his personal funds to the “Jood Housing” initiative.

This substantial support aims to accelerate the pace of homeownership for the most needy families, ensuring a decent life for citizens, and reflects His Highness’s great interest in the developmental housing file.

A developmental context and an ambitious vision

This event cannot be viewed in isolation from the comprehensive development drive the Kingdom is witnessing under the umbrella of Vision 2030. The Vision has placed housing at the forefront of its priorities, aiming to raise homeownership rates among citizens to record levels (70% by 2030). The “Jood Housing” platform is one of the fruits of the digital and social transformation in the non-profit sector, having successfully governed charitable housing donations and connected donors with beneficiaries with complete transparency and reliability.

A strict implementation plan within 12 months

In accordance with the timeline set by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, the Sakan Foundation adopted a detailed action plan aimed at completing all allocated housing projects within a period not exceeding 12 months. To ensure this, the Foundation established rigorous standards of quality and governance across all operational processes, as outlined in the plan:

  • The work is divided into 6 implementation phases covering all regions of the Kingdom.
  • Cooperation with real estate developers and national companies to ensure that the units conform to the approved technical specifications.
  • Direct coordination with the Emirates of the regions to implement a monthly distribution plan that includes two regions in each phase, which increases the efficiency of access to beneficiaries.

Social and economic dimensions of the initiative

The significance of this event extends far beyond simply handing over the keys to housing units; it carries profound social and economic dimensions. Socially, homeownership contributes to the family and psychological stability of the beneficiaries, positively impacting their children's academic performance and active participation in society. Economically, the injection of one billion riyals into the developmental housing sector stimulates the local contracting and real estate development sector and supports national companies implementing these projects.

It is worth mentioning that this generous directive comes as an extension of a series of initiatives sponsored by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince to support the non-profit sector and promote social solidarity, stressing that human beings are the focus and foundation of development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
