Al-Jouf University announces admission to 16 applied diploma programs for 2024

Al-Jouf University, represented by the Institute of Research, Consulting Studies and Training and in cooperation with the College of Applied Sciences, announced the opening of admission and registration for 16 quality in-person diploma programs (with a fee), as part of the university’s efforts to enhance the professional and scientific skills of young people and meet the evolving needs of the labor market.

The university explained that the application period for these programs runs from January 6th to 12th, with classes to be held at the university's main campus. This step comes in response to the growing demand for applied and professional specializations that align with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which focuses heavily on developing human capital and equipping citizens with the skills necessary to compete in both the public and private sectors.

Available majors and programs

The announced programs include a wide range of vital disciplines covering health, technical, administrative and engineering fields, as follows:

  • In the healthcare field, specializations include sterilization, medical coding, medical secretarial work, infection control, and opticianage. These specializations are currently among the most in-demand due to the significant expansion of the healthcare sector in the Kingdom and the privatization of medical services.
  • The technical and digital field includes interactive media and web design, data science, applied computing and networking technology, programming, and computer maintenance. These programs keep pace with the rapid digital transformation taking place across all sectors of the country.
  • Engineering and Administrative Field: Electronics Engineering Technology, Accounting, Marketing, Environmental Protection Technology, Occupational Health and Safety, in addition to the Nursery Caregivers Program.

The importance and future of applied diplomas

This announcement is particularly significant given the strategic direction of the Ministry of Education and Saudi universities towards expanding applied colleges. These programs aim to bridge the gap between academic outputs and the actual needs of the labor market. Specializations such as cybersecurity, data science, and occupational health and safety are considered fundamental pillars in major development projects.

At the regional level for the Al-Jawf region, these programs will contribute to raising the efficiency of national cadres from the sons and daughters of the region, which will enhance their opportunities to obtain quality jobs, reduce unemployment rates, and support localization plans in various commercial, industrial and health sectors in the region.

The university urged those wishing to enroll in these programs to register quickly during the specified period, stressing that these diplomas were designed according to high academic and professional standards to ensure the quality of outputs and qualify graduates to directly engage in the work environment.
