Results of the Judicial Intelligence Hackathon: 5 projects crowned for innovating the future of the courts

In a significant step reflecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to developing its judicial system through the latest global technologies, the Board of Grievances concluded its "Judicial Intelligence Hackathon," held under the patronage and in the presence of His Excellency the President of the Board, Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Yousef. The closing ceremony saw the crowning of the top five teams that presented exceptional innovative solutions. They were awarded prizes and commemorative shields with a total value exceeding 200,000 Saudi Riyals, in an event that represents a milestone in the digital transformation of administrative justice.

Record participation and fierce technical competition

This event was more than just a passing competition; it evolved into a major technological showcase that attracted a select group of creative minds. The competition witnessed record participation, with over 1,070 innovators, both men and women, distributed across 260 technical and legal teams. These teams underwent rigorous screening processes and stringent judging criteria, resulting in only 24 teams qualifying for the decisive final stage. This reflects the quality of the ideas presented and the high level of competition in developing solutions worthy of the future of the judiciary in the Kingdom.

Artificial intelligence: A cornerstone of modern administrative justice

This initiative comes within a broader strategic framework aimed at integrating artificial intelligence technologies into the judicial system, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030. Through this hackathon, the Board of Grievances aims to harness the energies of young people to create intelligent algorithms and systems capable of:

  • Analyzing big judicial data to speed up litigation procedures.
  • Predicting judgments based on judicial precedents to reduce variance in judgments.
  • Automating routine administrative processes to free up judges for more complex tasks.

The announcement of the results was preceded by high-level dialogue sessions with the participation of judicial leaders and technical experts, which discussed in depth how innovation can reshape the beneficiaries’ experience and raise the efficiency and quality of judicial outputs.

Strategic dimensions and a promising future

The success of the "Judicial Intelligence Hackathon" is not measured solely by the prizes awarded, but by the lasting impact of the winning projects. These innovative technological solutions aim to directly contribute to reducing litigation time, enhancing transparency, and facilitating access to services for citizens and residents. This initiative underscores the Board of Grievances' leadership in adopting emerging technologies, not only to keep pace with global developments, but also to create a pioneering Saudi model in the field of "smart justice" that can be emulated regionally and internationally.
