Kazakhstan stands in solidarity with Saudi Arabia and the Gulf against security threats

His Excellency President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of the Republic of Kazakhstan expressed his country's unwavering support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and several other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states through personal messages addressed to the leaders of the region. These messages were sent to the leaders of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates, in which he affirmed his sincere support and complete solidarity with the people of these brotherly nations during these challenging times in the region.
Messages of solidarity at a crucial time
This high-level diplomatic move by the Kazakh president underscores the depth of the strategic ties that bind Central Asian countries and the Arabian Gulf region. In his messages, President Tokayev emphasized Kazakhstan's solidarity with its Gulf partners during this critical period marked by complex challenges, noting that the security of the Gulf states is an integral part of regional and international security and stability.
Condemnation of military actions and adherence to sovereignty
According to the Kazakh state news agency Kazinform, President Tokayev strongly condemned any military or aggressive actions aimed at undermining the sovereignty and security of Kazakhstan's friendly and fraternal states. He implicitly referred to recent tensions, reiterating his country's firm rejection of the use of force or the threat of force in international relations and emphasizing the need to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states as a fundamental pillar of international law.
Calling for diplomatic solutions and rejecting violence
In a related context, the Kazakh president reiterated his country's consistent call for the resolution of all complex international issues and armed conflicts exclusively through diplomatic means. He emphasized that dialogue and negotiation are the only way to guarantee lasting stability in the region, warning against the dangers of military escalation, which could drag the region into disastrous consequences. This stance is consistent with Kazakhstan's foreign policy, which has long played an active role in international mediation and supporting peace efforts.
Background of Gulf-Kazakhstan relations
These messages are particularly significant given the remarkable development in relations between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Central Asian states in recent years. The past period has witnessed joint summits and high-level reciprocal visits focused on strengthening economic, security, and political cooperation. Kazakhstan views the Gulf states as strategic partners in the energy and investment sectors, making the stability of the Gulf a vital interest for Kazakhstan as well.
Readiness to provide support and assistance
President Tokayev concluded his messages by affirming his country's readiness to provide all possible assistance to the brotherly Arab states to overcome these challenges. He also expressed his hope to maintain open channels of communication and ongoing, organized work with the leadership of the Gulf states to coordinate positions and protect common interests, thereby ensuring security and prosperity for the peoples of both regions.
