Kadana develops Mina tents with modern technologies to serve pilgrims in 1447

As part of early preparations for the 1447 AH Hajj season, Kadana Development and Investment Company, the master developer of the Holy Sites, announced the continuation of the Kadana Al-Khaif Tents project in Mina. This pioneering project aims to transform the accommodation experience for pilgrims by providing modern tents equipped with advanced ventilation and shading systems, thus enhancing their comfort and safety during their rituals.

Historical background and importance of Mina

Mina holds immense religious significance in the Hajj pilgrimage, as pilgrims spend the Day of Tarwiyah and the days of Tashreeq there, a crucial period for completing the rituals. Throughout history, hosting millions of pilgrims in this limited space has presented a significant logistical challenge, especially given the harsh climatic conditions in Mecca. The tents in Mina have undergone remarkable development, evolving from simple, traditional tents to fire-resistant, air-conditioned fiberglass tents, a significant achievement at the time. The new “Kadana” project represents another step in the ongoing development efforts undertaken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to serve pilgrims, aligning with the objectives of the “Guests of God Service Program,” a key component of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

Project details and technical features

The “Kadana Al-Khaif Tents” project spans a total area of over 24,000 square meters, distributed across two strategic locations in Mina: the upper site on King Abdul Aziz Road, and the lower site behind Al-Khaif Mosque. This carefully planned geographical distribution aims to enhance the flow of pilgrims and facilitate their access to all essential facilities and services.

The project's concept revolves around implementing tent-like accommodation units in Mina , focusing on providing effective ventilation and shading solutions. This contributes to lowering temperatures within the camps and ensuring a comfortable and healthy environment for pilgrims. In addition to the state-of-the-art tents, the project includes integrated facilities designed to the highest operational standards, including spacious dining halls, open areas, and advanced administrative and service buildings to support operational efficiency.

Expected impact and integration with infrastructure

The project is expected to have a significant positive impact on the overall Hajj experience. Locally, it will contribute to raising the quality of services provided to pilgrims, reducing heat stress, and providing a well-organized and safe accommodation environment. Internationally, it reflects the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to utilizing the latest technologies and global best practices to serve pilgrims from all corners of the earth.

The project also contributes to the integration of services within the holy sites by aligning them with existing and future infrastructure projects, such as water and electricity networks and safety systems. This integration ensures the sustainability of operational performance during peak periods and enhances the readiness of the sites to efficiently accommodate millions of pilgrims. Through this project, Kadana reaffirms its commitment to implementing high-quality projects that elevate the experience of pilgrims, fulfilling the aspirations of the wise leadership in serving pilgrims and facilitating their spiritual journey.
