A falcon earns 120,000 riyals at the King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival 2025

The King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival 2025 witnessed a remarkable investment success story, with falconer Musa bin Abdulrahman Al-Shalawi winning the International Auction Championship title in the "Mathlouth Gyr Pure" category, part of the Al-Malwah competition. The competitions were held at the Saudi Falcons Club headquarters in Mulham (north of Riyadh), amidst a large audience and wide participation from elite falconers.

The striking paradox is that the falcon that won first place, named (G2), was purchased for only 30,000 riyals from the international auction of falcon production farms, and thanks to its owner’s training and skill, it was able to win the first place prize worth 120,000 riyals, thus achieving a rewarding investment return that reflects the golden opportunities that the festival provides for amateurs and professionals alike.

Valuable prizes and fierce competition

The international auction rounds are distinguished by the participation of falcons acquired exclusively through the international falcon breeding farms auction, which enhances the value of this auction and intensifies the competition. This round sees 10 winners crowned, with the second-place winner receiving a prize of 75,000 riyals, while the third-place winner receives 50,000 riyals. The remaining prizes are distributed among the other winners, creating a stimulating competitive environment.

King Abdulaziz Festival: A global event on Saudi soil

The King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival is more than just a sporting competition; it is the largest event of its kind in the world and has even entered the Guinness World Records as the largest gathering of falcons. Organized annually by the Saudi Falcons Club, this event reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to preserving its rich cultural heritage and solidifying its position as a leading global destination for falconers and enthusiasts from around the world.

The festival is gaining increasing regional and international importance, as it brings together falconers from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the world, contributing to the exchange of experiences and strengthening cultural ties between peoples, in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which pays great attention to intangible heritage.

Economic recovery and a promising market

The Saudi Falcons Club has successfully transformed the international falcon breeding farm auction into a reliable and secure economic platform. By allocating special auction categories with substantial prizes, the club has contributed to revitalizing the buying and selling of falcons and attracting the world's best breeding farms to participate in the auction.

This strategic approach has made the auction a preferred destination for falconers seeking rare breeds at competitive prices, while also ensuring genuine opportunities to recoup the purchase price and generate profits through competitions, as was the case with the G2 falcon. The platform offers a wide selection of elite breeds, available through direct bidding at farm booths or via the auction's online platform, thus enhancing the sustainability of this traditional hobby and transforming it into a fully integrated industry.
