New King Fahd Causeway tolls 2026: Prices and discount packages

The King Fahd Causeway Authority is preparing to embark on a new phase of financial and operational restructuring, with the implementation of the new toll structure taking effect on Wednesday morning, February 18, 2026. This decision, announced less than 72 hours after the announcement of a package of changes aimed at improving the travel experience and ensuring smooth traffic flow between the two sister kingdoms, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Bahrain, will be implemented.

The strategic importance of the King Fahd Causeway

The King Fahd Causeway has been a vital artery and a cornerstone of the Gulf Cooperation Council since its opening. Its role extends far beyond simply being a land crossing; it serves as an economic and social bridge connecting the two nations. Millions of travelers and a massive flow of goods cross the bridge annually, making it one of the busiest land crossings in the Middle East. These new regulatory measures aim to enhance the efficiency of this vital facility and keep pace with the increasing number of travelers and the volume of trade.

Details of the new fees and exempted categories

Under the new regulations, the toll fees for vehicles and trucks traveling in one direction have been set as follows:

  • Private cars and motorcycles: 35 riyals.
  • Minibuses: 55 riyals.
  • Large buses: 70 riyals.
  • Trucks: 7 riyals per ton.

In a gesture that takes into account the humanitarian and social dimensions, the institution has protected three main categories from any increases, keeping the fees at their current levels for “students”, “people with disabilities”, and “frequent travelers”, in appreciation of their circumstances and frequent daily commitments.

Smart packages and discounts up to 40%

In conjunction with the implementation of the fees, the organization launched, through the “Jisr” application, a package of smart packages that provide flexible and economical options for travelers:

  • Frequent Flyer Package: Offers an instant 40% discount worth 850 riyals, valid for one month or 40 crossings, and is the ideal choice for daily travelers.
  • Frequent Flyer Package: Offers a discount of up to 20% worth 1120 riyals, and is valid for a full year or 40 crossings.
  • Round trip package: Designed for occasional travelers with a 15% discount and a value of 60 riyals, valid for one week from the first crossing.

Digital transformation and streamlined travel procedures

As part of the automation of services, fee payments and vehicle insurance have been linked to the "Absher Travel" service, allowing travelers to complete their procedures in advance of arriving at the port of entry. Technical instructions also emphasized the necessity of completing "location verification" via the "Nafath" application upon arrival at passport control booths, or manually verifying biometric data if this is not possible. Authorities urged travelers to download the "Jisr" application and utilize digital channels to ensure a smoother journey and reduce waiting times.
